Dubstep: what started as an experimental genre in England in the 2000’s has seeped into the veins of most electronic music lovers and into main stream radio stations (how many times have you heard Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding on KDWB?!). The term holds most flexibility as its sounds differ from producer to DJ and from person to person. And this Wednesday, Minneapolis welcomes back the king of fluid dubstep, Rusko, whose songs change from disco beats (“Feels so Real”) to jungle (“Kumon Kumon”). Similarly, his newest album release Songs on Diplo’s Mad Decent presents a variety to this genre of music: from reggae roots to R&B vocals. Join us this Thursday at Myth for some bass bliss and don’t forget to enjoy another Drop & Gimme 20, Rusko style.
